So, I just got back from one of the 11pm showings of X-2 at AMC. All I have to say is that it was pretty good, although some would argue that it wasn’t "pure." Some people just have to realize that the comics, the cartoons, the video games, and the movies are all different forks based on the same characters. Some spoilers follow, so beware.
Anyway, that is getting outside of the realm of what I want to say for right now. Maybe it can be discussed at a later point when I’m more in the geek argument mood. The special effects were, of course, quite good. It was funny watching the credits because there was just pages and pages of names involved in the animation.
The opening sequence was Nightcrawler infiltrating the White House and the Oval Office. The animation was interesting, as I would never have done anything but make his "BAMF" a puff of smoke. If you’ve seen the movie, or even the commercial, you’ll notice that it’s actually a sort of blue particle wave effect. Anyways, I’m tired and don’t feel like typing very much more. Hopefully I’ll remember enough of the movie to write more tomorrow, er later today.
