Well, I must say, if this ever happened in real life, I might just crap myself. A spoiler follows. So, President Bartlett’s daughter Zowie is kidnapped. Six or so hours later, President Bartlett invokes the 25th amendment. A couple weeks ago, the Vice President resigned. So, there’s no Vice President to take up the Presidency during President Bartlett’s temprorary incapacitance. In comes John Goodman as the Speaker of the House. And since he cannot work for more than one branch of the government, in this case the legislative and executive branches, he must resign from his post as Speaker of the House before he can be sworn in as the President Pro Tempore. All I can say is, “Daaaayaaaaaamn!”
