So, today I stopped by my mom’s house to drop off the license plate sticker for the RAV4. Then, we went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. I had the fried shrimp scatter and a slice of the chocolate peanut butter cookie dough cheesecake. My leftover shrimp and fries went home with my mom so that Mel could have them. She would have come, but I guess the Warped Tour was in town today. After dropping off my mom at home, Chris and I went to Dominick’s and got some last minute items for tonight’s trip to Ravinia Festival to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and celibrate our one year anniversary of the engagement.
We got there quite early, and found ourselves with a good parking spot in the West Lot. We were close to the exit, so there wasn’t much of a wait getting in or out of the parking lot. After walking into the main gate, we went over to the right of the pavilion, where we sat last year when I proposed to Chris. We took a spot just a few feet away from where we were because it was flatter and gave a slightly better view of the stage (not that we paid much attention to the actual stage tonight).
I went to get our boxed dinners from the pickup window back near the main gates. I didn’t feel my cell phone vibrating in my pocket, so I failed to get a paper for tonight’s concert for Chris. When I got back to her, we opened our dinners and started eating. We had finished most of our dinners before the show started, leaving the chocolate cake for enjoyment during the concert.
For those of you who like cheese, crackers, and wine, might I suggest the combination we had for tonight: Tillamook medium cheddar, New York Style Baked Bagel Chips with roasted garlic flavor, and bottle of Chateau Ste. Michelle’s EROICA 2002 Reisling. I’m no afficionado, but it was a good combination of flavors on my tongue.
The night ended with a pleasant drive back home, most of which was spent driving west on Dundee. Time for bed; work in the morning. I’ve only got two more days of class. Hopefully, when it’s over, I’ll be able to make it to LTF after work. Good night.
btw, for those of you with dirtier minds, there was no hanky panky going on at Ravinia. That is not was kept us from paying attention to the stage. Actually, we were reading. I’ll post links to what we were reading tomorrow ’cause I’m tired right now.
