Motorola i720 Ringtones

So, as I’m browsing the WASTE network to which I belong, I saw ringtones for my Motorola i720 phone. Unfortunately, I do not have the computer connection kit for the phone, so I cannot just copy the ringtones to the phone via a USB cable :-( I thought for a second and remembered that when I downloaded some ringtones from about.com I was directed to go to a URL for the ringtone. I thought the same might be possible if I simply browse to one of these MIDI files via the phone’s wireless web browser. I copied the MIDI’s to my root web (ask-mark.com) and linked to them from the home page. To my surprise, it worked! Now, I’m currently searching for interesting songs to download to my phone and set as the ringer. Yay me!

Unfortunately, Joe, I don’t know what software you need. I thought that the software came with the USB cable for the Motorola phones. The software is supposed to allow you to not only download ringtones to your phone, but also sync your contacts and calendar, as well. You may want to check Motorola’s website for the software. It may be publicly available there, since you would need both the phone and the USB or serial cable to use it.
