Pre cana class

We had our pre cana class today. It was 8 hours of boring, with a little “do it yourself” fun. It probably didn’t help that Chris and I were both dead tired from yesterday. We were the youngest couple there, probably by two or three years. I thought it was sort of interesting, I guess, but most of it was stuff Chris and I had already thought about. Such as whether or not we want children (two: Donovan Caleb and Epiphany Anne), sex after marriage (it’ll have to happen if we want kids), finances (the money is collectively ours), and the in-laws (we like ‘em). There was a lack of group discussion, not for lack of trying on the part of the two married couples leading the day. Most of us just weren’t in the talking mood for the most part. To end the day, we had a betrothal ceremony, which included a blessing for the rings. It was kind of funny, and that’s where the “do it yourself” fun came in. The wording of the ceremony was just…interesting…definitely easy to pervert. And it was fun making faces at Chris and she was saying her “engagement vows.” I seriously had to try hard not to laugh too much during it. After the day, we went to the 5 o’clock mass. It was shorter than I thought it would be. Chris and I also realized that if we were to go to mass regularly, it would be at that time, rather than a Sunday morning mass. The timing is just right for our usual weekend activities. Anyways, I’m just glad it’s all over now. We have it behind us, and I think the only other church-related things we need to take care of before the wedding are some paperwork, selecting our readings, and the rehearsal. Woohoo! * prancing around singing * I’m almost married! I’m almost married!…
