Like I said: It’s the Cubs

So, my prediction of 12-4 Florida didn’t come true, but 8-3 is just as bad - it’s a loss. This means game 7 will come about to haunt me yet. Am I just a heartless bastard, or is all this Cubs hype just nuts? The problem is that people do not share the low expectations that I have for life, the Cubs included. Lower expectations elevate the small victories in life. People should just be happy that the Cubs finally got this far. Now I’m watching NBC5 News, and I’m thinking that whoever this lady sportscaster is should shut up. Her blabbing about “you just don’t do that in your home town,” referring to the fan who went to catch a ball in foul territory, just bugs me. If the Cubs really wanted this series, whomever was fielding left field should have reached for the damned ball instead of letting the fans have it. Anyways, this is all still pretty stupid. Now you’ve got Dusty Baker chastizing the fan or anyone else not behind the Cubs hype as “not a Cubs fan” or “a Marlins fan.” How about they’re like me, they just don’t care?
