Saturday blah!

So far, Saturday is sucking big time. This morning, I woke up early with Chris so I could move the Celica so Chris could take the Benz (all her fabric stuff is still in the trunk). It was cold. Then I watched the Speed Channel for a couple hours as I struggled to perfectly make the bed. I still think I screwed up the undertuck thing at the foot of the bed, but the way it is will have to do as I don’t have Martha Stewart’s bedmaking episode on tape. I did learn, however, that a nice car audio solution can be had for under a grand, if you have a good drill with a hole saw attachment (thank you Hi Rev Tuners). After being bored out of my mind watching a dumb show about the American Motor Company’s AMX muscle car, I went downstairs and checked my e-mail. I still haven’t quite gotten my Outlook rules and filters to work properly. I think it’s because I didn’t put in exceptions for my InfoWorld and eWEEK columns. I gave up on the e-mail thing, and I decided that I’d have to duplicate my Windows XP partition in order to build the new machines and copy some of my programs and settings without screwing things up. Unfortunately, the first time around, I wasted about two hours copying the wrong 20GB partition to the new 80GB drive. So now, I’m sitting here waiting after having started another Partition Magic batch process to delete the first copied partition from the 80GB drive and copy the correct 20GB partition to it. Oh, but before I realized I screwed up the partitions, I did my DDR workout. This time, however, I changed from the beginner speed to the workout speed in the workout setup, and I tossed in some weight lifting between songs (a suggestion from Hersch). Unfortunately, I think I changed too many things at once, and I just couldn’t keep up with DDR. The workout mode surely increased my heartrate, but I couldn’t get better than a C on any of the four songs I did before I gave up on the workout speed. So, I went back to the beginner speed and stopped with the weight lifting between songs, but felt as if I wasn’t moving enough because it seemed as if the arrows only came up about once every two measures, unlike the ten or twelve arrows per measure I had at workout speed. Moral of the story is that you should only change one thing in your workout at a time. Anyways, Chris wants me to clean up a little in the family room, and I want to also clean up a little in the dining room, so off I go.
