Yippee! So, I feel like crap and I’m sitting in bed at home with the laptop, trying to feel less like crap. I’m not sure my plan is working. I just finished an e-mail to someone at work, and my headache is coming back after some coughing and hacking (and not the computer kind). I wish I weren’t so sick.
I took some Sudafed around 8:45 this morning. A little over an hour later, I’m not sure that has helped yet, either
Well, I think I’m going to put the computer aside and read Angels & Demons until I fall asleep.
So far this weekend, I worked a 14 hour day with Adam at PHS Friday (not that working with Adam was bad, just the 14 hour part - we almost starved in the process), I woke up with a sore throat and my nose continued to piss me off by both being stuffy and runny all at once, I went to Woodfield, I went to Huntley, I napped (while feeling like crap), I napped at HEHS for two hours (while feeling worse), and I had fifty tuxedos stuffed into the Butzen truck while it rained. Needless to say I feel like crap and I’m tired. Somebody wake me up around Wednesday so I can prepare for CIS 126 at Harper. Hopefully I won’t still be sick. Oh, and if you want links in this post, Google for them cause I’m too tired to make them myself.
There is something wrong with the world when you have nine homicide victims, seven of whom are children, in Fresno, California, just a day after a 23-pound teenager with cerebral palsy is found dead in Crystal Lake and more than 200 are killed in a Madrid train bombing. I can be crass and rude at times, but these and other recent news stories are just disturbing.

Well, after a 14-hour work day, I finally got home, got some food in me, and did some surfing. After adding my default e-mail account from Geek Hosting, an e-mail I received a while back prompted me to Google for Geek Hosting. I was intrigued by the fact that my host was ranked #17 on my search, so I clicked on several of the other hits I got. One of the highest ranking pages was a blog that linked to a different Geek-Hosting.
The post was pretty bland, just lamenting about web host woes. What interested me more, however, was the previous post. Titled Secret message discovered in winning iTunes bottlecaps?, I just had to give it a peek. It’s pretty funny, if you’re a geek like me, so you should give it a peek, too.
Again, from the forum:
Well, this morning Dish Network aparently officially cut out the Viacom stations from its lineup. I heard it on Eric & Kathy this morning. So, I turned on the tube and flipped over to channel 2, and what do you know, there’s the Dish Network CEO talking about how Viacom and CBS2 are unfairly ensuring that we (Dish Network viewers) don’t have Viacom stations without paying a good chunk of change for them. He also stated that we’d receive a $1 credit on our monthly statement for the loss of the Viacom stations. What a crock. This is what happens when large media conglomerates gain too much power - they can unfairly throw their weight around to make demands that help only them, not the viewing public. Both Echostar and Viacom are guilty of this, IMO.
From the forum:
I don’t know yet what the reason behind this movie is, but it’s so awesome, if only for the use of classic gaming icons.
So, I was watching MTV while I was finishing up some work on my mom’s computer. Hillary Duff’s Come Clean video was on, so I was really only half watching at the time, but a message was scrolling across the bottom of the screen and it caught my eye. As I was reading it, I noticed that the message was scrolling behind the SPANKING NEW box, leading me to believe that the message was being scrolled across by MTV.
That was weird to me, because the message was saying something about Dish Network threatening to remove MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, and some other channels. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to read the entire message, as a black bar suddenly appeared at the bottom of the screen. The bar’s sole purpose seemed to be to block out that message, and make the screen appear as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
Now, some people might call me paranoid, but I think the Dish Network was censoring MTV or whomever was posting that message at the bottom of the screen. I sure as hell would be upset with Dish Network if they took MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, and other similar channels from their lineup. I’d be upset enough to cancel my Dish Network service, and refuse to pay the early termination fees. Did anyone else see this?
