So, I went in for an informal interview yesterday at Harper College. Once I get my application and transcript to their Personnel Office, I’ll be an adjunct professor of CIS. The class I’ll be teaching is CIS 126, Photoshop 7.
This will be interesting, as this is the first class I’ll be teaching on a more formal basis. Every other class I’ve taught with someone else, and I was a peer of the students. I didn’t really have the student-teacher relationship. It also didn’t help that in the most recent classes that I taught, I was the youngest person in the room (most of the teachers I taught were old enough to have been tenured teachers when I was in high school).
I’ll have to see how much I like teaching this eight-week course. I’ll also have to wait to hear my mentor teacher’s opinion of my teaching style and effectiveness of my teaching in getting the goals of the class accomplished. I’ll let you know in May how I did.
