Congratulations, Bob

So, the short story is that I was passed up for two possible promotions in a matter of minutes this morning. I was told that Bob was offered the NT job and accepted it. Then, when I asked when Bob’s RT position would be posted, I was told that the position wouldn’t be posted. Instead, someone from the ADC was going to be brought over to fill it. I’m happy for Bob. Honestly. I look forward to continuing to help him with the network jobs, including blasting. I’m a mature enough person to get past this. I just might need a little time to reflect on the past two weeks. I should be good by Monday. If someone from work is reading this, don’t think much of it; I’m just venting a little because I tried to keep cool most of the day at work. Writing’s therapeutic. And so I ponder. Don’t get me wrong. I think Bob will do fine as NT. I don’t see any problems with it. I was just caught a little off guard this morning by the news. That’s understandable, right? After all, I was told several times as far back as a year ago that I should learn Adam’s job in case he leaves. So, I learned Adam’s job…as much of it as I could (I didn’t have the opportunity to play with Novell at work very much, given the organization’s control over who has access to what). I guess that will help me help Bob out. So it’s a good thing. So, I’m still me and not anyone else. Question on everyone’s mind is, “How long can he wait?” And that, my readers, is a very good question, indeed.
