If you go to this page, you will be able to try out My Yahoo!’s new layout. Rael Dornfest’s blog post is where I first saw this, although Yahoo! has its own announcement. I’ve already added slashdot to my front page’s RSS feeds. Not that I really needed to do that, since I either go to slashdot on my own or see the headlines via Desktop Sidebar’s Newsroom panel.
Some jerk that almost sideswiped me because of his poor timing on a lane change just had the nerve to tell me to watch my driving.
<sarcasm>Of course it’s my fault because I made a right turn into an open lane of traffic. It can’t be his fault at all because he was in the middle of a seven-lane-wide intersection when he all of a sudden decided to change lanes.</sarcasm>
I found this movie the other day of a guy sliding down an escalator. It’s pretty funny.
I listen to Eric & Kathy on WTMX in the mornings. Last week, Eric & Kathy "adopted" Wauconda High School’s football team because it had a horribly long losing streak, and they wanted to get a float into WHS’s Homecoming parade. Well, what do you know, but WHS won its game last Friday, ending their losing streak. Now, Eric & Kathy are looking for another school’s team to adopt.
The first thought that came to my mind was, "Why not Hoffman Estates High School"? Not to be mean, but HEHS doesn’t exactly have the best record. Palatine isn’t having such a hot season, either, but we were victorious over HEHS last week. What I heard on the radio this morning from a HEHS parent is that they won a game last year, but the last game they won before that was two years prior! It has been bad enough this season that they have been running the clocks even after incomplete passes and running out of bounds!
It looks like Eric & Kathy are enthusiastic about adopting Hoffman’s football team. They even mentioned possibly adopting the Hawkeye View. But I think they only mentioned the newspaper because Eric mistakenly thought the mascot was the hawkeye. So, I guess we can find out later this week if HEHS will get adopted by the Eric & Kathy show, and maybe have the Eric & Kathy parade float in two Homecomings back-to-back.
So, I’ve been working out with DDR for the past three weeks, and I think I’m actually getting better at the thing. The other day Pete and Katie were over, and they wanted to play DDR, so we did. After they left, Chris and I played DDR for a little while. At one point, I even played the dual pad DDR, where you dance on both pads at the same time. And wouldn’t you know, I’m not half bad at that.
So, I’ve finally got WordPress up and running, serving my WP blog as the ask-mark.com home page. As I browsed through my previous entries, I just wanted to update you on one of them. Back on January 11, 2004, I posted something about trying to finish up unpacking and cleaning out my office. It’s almost nine months later, and my office is probably more of a mess than it was then (no thanks to our little flood, either). I’ve not got two additional computers in my office, a Shark sweeper, and other stuff from various parts of the house stashed here for a quick clean appearance elsewhere. I’m not quite sure this room is ever going to be a true office for me.
So, I’ve had a few comments posted to my previous entry about having some Gmail invites. One of them was from a friend, another was interesting, but the last one was just lame. In my Googling for Gmail invites, there is a Gmail invite spooler. Since this spooler now exists, I will be tossing invites there, instead of asking for people to post lame comments that aren’t even creative begging for an invite. If you want one, put your e-mail address into the spooler.
