My first voting experience

So, I didn’t think I was going to do it this year, but I did. By 9am, I had cast my vote for Sen. Kerry to be the next PotUS. I woke up by 7:30, listened to the radio, read some of The Hunt for Red October, and took a shower. I was out the door by 8:30, so I decided to head to St. Peter’s Church in Schaumburg. When I got there, I had an initial hiccup after I figured out to what precinct I belong. You see, I didn’t vote in 2000, so I didn’t have a voter record on file in their books. My sister and mom had, so they had me fill out a green form and I received a normal ballot. I got into a booth, and started voting. The first couple of pages were clear cut: Kerry, Bean, Obama. After that, I was mostly clueless about about the judges. I am watching the replay of the Daily Show’s Prelude to a Recount. John Stewart just announced the Illinois Senate results: 88% Obama to 10% Keyes. For those who voted for Keyes, Stewart says:
It’s safe to say that 10% of the people in Illinois clearly wear tinfoil hats and diapers. ‘Cause there’s really no other explanation for that. I really thought it was going to be a shutout, quite frankly.
After hearing some of Keyes’ banter late in the election game, I wholeheartedly agree with Stewart’s analysis of my state’s Senate election. You can read some of Keyes’ positions here.
