I was not doing some work for a while, finding myself visiting blogs of total strangers who were linked from the blog of another stranger, etc. One blog had a link to My Virtual Model, where you can construct a virtual model of yourself. This virtual model can be used at several online retailers to help you visualize how you would look wearing the various wares. Sears and Land’s End seem to be the big two retailers for men. So, what do you think?
I just finished playing around at Sears with their virtual model tools, and wouldn’t you believe that, while the store appears to have plenty for you to put on your virtual model, when you try to purchase something, they’re fresh out of everything. That pisses me off. I put together a nice ensemble of what seemed like decent stuff for quite cheap (a white oxford, a red wool sweater, and some black pants - I believe all for under $50!), and none of the things are available or could be found by the online engine. What a bunch of krunk! I’ll have to remember to try it again later.
