Do not pick up hitch hikers

I wish I had a camera with me, but at the time I didn’t. On my way to the doctor’s office yesterday, I see a sign on the side of the road that says, "DO NOT PICK UP HITCH HIKERS." At first I thought it was an odd sign, but then I realize that I am passing by the Elgin Mental Health Center. I’m sure the sign is just a warning to those not realizing where they’re driving. It was semi-amusing, nonetheless. I’ll post a pic one day when I remember to have a camera with me.

Ask Chris if she remembers Mr. Geiss’ story about hitchhikers on the way to the Olympia forensics meet (driving by the Joliet prison). I was so gullible, I believed him. Stupid freshman that I was.

I once picked up a hitch hiker when I was driving from Texas back to Chicago for Spring Break. He could not have been over 25 years old. Scuffy lookin kid. Nice boy though. asked me to take him as far toward his location he was going as I could. I drove him 2 hours close to his location and then bought him a good dinner and got him cleaned up. He never once did anything stupid. But yeah..health clinics..i would not fuck with them. this was just an impulse thing. I once hitchhiked and it was a feeling like you would not believe. i think the guy who i hopped in with was fresh off the rock. Well back to the report my boss needs by…oh ooopppps..last night. sorry boss. why are you going to the Elgin mental health club?

Mark…that sign has been there for years…you JUST finally noticed it after going to the doc forever? Boy, you’re blind…I don’t know why I stumbled upon your website at 4:30 in the morning. I’m really bored at work right now. Anyway, yeah…don’t pick up hitch hikers
