So far I have two days down at the new job, and I still haven’t had a normal day yet. On Tuesday I came to work with a flooded first floor, helping to get laptops up and running for the various offices. Yesterday, I had a meeting in the afternoon, so I was gone for three hours of the day. I’ve already got this afternoon and tomorrow off so that I can go to D.C. for Dee’s wedding. Next week is finals, so I may not have a "normal" day for another week or two.
Yesterday I was taken around school to see the various labs and department offices. I was introduced to a few people, most of whom I didn’t know or first associated me with Mel. Then we came to the English office, where I knew most of the people that came through during the short time we were there yesterday.
It’s still kind of weird being on the other side of things at my high school. Once I get into the groove, I’m sure that weird feeling will go away, just like I think my comfort level will get higher in time. I already miss the old place a lot, but there comes a time when everyone needs to move forward. I guess this was my time. Time to see what another day will bring me.
