Sony DSCH1

I finally did it. With some birthday money (thanks, Jeff, Karen, Michelle and Chris!) I just bought the Sony Cybershot DSCH1, a 5.1 megapixel camera with 12x optical zoom. It was only a few bucks more for 2-day shipping, so it should arrive by Friday 
The camera should come just in time for me to use it this weekend’s events – Jessi’s fun weekend. I am just hearing, however, that some of the plans may be changing. I hope whenever whatever is happening that the camera is already here.
I’ll write up a short review and post some pics to show off my amateur photography skills.

[...] After interrogating Mark and Hersch, I figured out that I no longer had to wait. I’ve decided that I want an SLR-like camera. The digital SLR’s are just too expensive and too advanced for me. I haven’t made any serious attempts at taking photographs for 11 years, during my high school trip to Europe. Mark recently bought a Sony Cybershot DSC-H1. Some pictures from its maiden voyage are here. At its current price, it seems the camera to buy in that class. The price drop is due the anticipated release of the H2. According to one site I found, the H2 will have the superior Carl Zeiss lenses, 6 or so megapixels, and take four batteries. It is also expected that it will take the new, smaller Memory Stick Duo, which makes it compatible with the PSP and other new Sony products that use flash memory. [...]
