Sony DSCH1

I finally did it. With some birthday money (thanks, Jeff, Karen, Michelle and Chris!) I just bought the Sony Cybershot DSCH1, a 5.1 megapixel camera with 12x optical zoom. It was only a few bucks more for 2-day shipping, so it should arrive by Friday :-)

The camera should come just in time for me to use it this weekend’s events - Jessi’s fun weekend. I am just hearing, however, that some of the plans may be changing. I hope whenever whatever is happening that the camera is already here.

I’ll write up a short review and post some pics to show off my amateur photography skills.

Glad that’s over

For those of you who didn’t notice, all of ask-mark.com was unavailable since Friday. Thanks to the great support team at Dreamhost, the site is once again available, and I know what happened. I posted a little note about it on my #2 blog (I had completely forgotten that I created a second blog to test out WordPress.com). So, in the future, if ask-mark.com breaks again, check markomni.wordpress.com to see if something happened.

Brokeback to the Future

The evolution of video editing software has made it easier to produce professional-looking video right on your personal computer. You no longer need specialized hardware to make a video that ten years ago may have needed a server farm to render. Windows Movie Maker, Apple iMovie and Adobe Premier are accessible to the general public (the first two come free with Windows XP and Mac OS X).

I saw Brokeback to the Future on del.icio.us/popular this morning. It’s funny what you can do with two completely unrelated things. Without further ado, here’s the video:

Fox TV DVDs on sale at Amazon.com

For those of you looking to get your hands on DVDs of popular 20th Centure Fox TV shows like 24, The Family Guy and Arrested Development, Amazon.com has up to 50% off Fox TV DVDs. This list is quite impressive, and they’re not skimping on the discout either. Most of the DVDs are at 50% off. I’m definitely going to use up some of my gift card balance for at least one or two of these sets.
