Wiper blades

Before Chris and I went to Wisconsin, I knew that I should replace my wiper blades. So, I sent Chris to Murray’s to get a set of Bosch ICON blades; a 24-inch blade for the driver side and a 21-inch blade for the passenger side. The ICON blades are new, and they make better contact with the windshield, resulting in a clean wipe. I forgot to tell Chris that there are ‘A’ sizes and ‘B’ sizes for the ICON blades; the difference is the height of the ‘A’ size is taller, while the ‘B’ size is shorter. The clearance on the passenger side of most vehicles is shorter than the driver side. When she got to the store, Clifford, one of the employees, made an attempt to help her out because she didn’t know which of the two sizes she needed for each blade.

To make a long story short (this is my third rewrite), Clifford screwed up royally. First, he couldn’t find the car in the computer. Then, he said that the ICON blades would not work for my car (I later found out that had Clifford paged down on the computer screen, he would have seen the ICON blades listed). When Clifford sold Chris the inferior Bosch Micro Edge blades, he also sold her a 24-inch blade for the passenger side instead of the 21-inch blade that is needed. He then installed them on the car. However, he never checked to see how well they (didn’t) work.

The next day after Chris bought the wipers for me, I discovered that the passenger side blade was not wiping half of the area it should have covered. When I inspected the blade, I saw that it was wedged underneath the cowl and also hanging over onto the A-pillar! Clifford is lucky that he didn’t break my windshield or otherwise damage my car.

After calling Murray’s and confirming that I would be able to exchange the wiper for the appropriate size, I visited Murray’s later in the week. When I did so, Clifford was the only available employee to help me. I ended up talking with Nick, another employee, after not getting satisfactory help from Clifford. Nick was going to do an exchange for the correct size, until he noticed that the bracker was bent. I told him that it was probably due to the fact that whoever sold and installed the blades sold the wrong size. This is when Joe, who I think is a manager, showed up.

When I explained the situation to Joe, he got pissed that someone recommended and sold inferior blades, as well as blades that were the wrong size. Joe offered to exchange the damaged Micro Edge blade for the correct size ICON blade, at no extra cost. I had to pay the difference for the driver side blade’s exchange. Joe and Nick installed my new ICON blades for me, while Clifford handled the paperwork. I want to thank Joe and Nick for their help that night. Without it, Chris and I may not have been able to see during the rainy parts of our trip. I hope Clifford got reprimanded for his screwup.
