Not that I would read the book until much later after its release (and after the movie’s release), but it was recently announced that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Deluxe Edition), the seventh and final book in the series, will be released on July 21, 2007. In addition to the Deluxe Edition, a hardcover edition is also available. You can pre-order the book from Amazon.com, and have it shipped to you by the release date.
What makes it “deluxe”..? It looks like they’re the same except one costs like $30 more.. :/
One of the Amazon discussions suggested paper quality and maybe a piece of art at the front, but wouldn’t you think they’d try and properly advertise the benefits of the deluxe?
I was going to bring up the same issue. I think I’ll probably just go normal hardcover. But then, what if I wanted to change my mind? Ah, decisions decisions.
I think the cover art hasn’t been released yet, and that’s why the two “covers” look similar. It looks like Scholastic just made a promo comp with the title and release date. I’m sure the deluxe edition is probably just foil stamped and embossed. Perhaps it also comes with a ginormous poster of Radcliffe posing nude in front of a horse:
That is /so/ severely disturbing… all the more so b/c that profile of his face looks sort of like my LITTLE BROTHER. cripes. D:
