Plane lands in Palatine

Palatine does not have an airport, but a plane landed there Friday night. The Tribune article is a bit sparse on details, but a small plane of unknown size and with an unknown origin and destination landed at Northwest Highway and Quentin Road last night.

Sure did. Amaris and I were at Brandt’s (http://www.brandtslittlecafe.com) 2 hours prior to it landing right in front of the resturant. When it did land, we were at home (just down 14 a little bit from the new runway) watching a movie and noticed the power flicker. We saw the news the next morning and then rushed to the internet for more video clips. I guess it ran out of fuel, radioed in, and clipped a power line on its way in from texas. The plane was moved off 14 and into Brandt’s parking lot where it still sits today. So, if you want a fantastic burger, and want to catch a glimps of the plane, drop by Brandt’s. I wonder if they are just going to use 14 again as a runway to remove this plane from Palatine?
