I awoke this morning to the sound of helicopters. Usually, when helicopters pass over Schaumburg, they continue to fly toward their destination, rarely pausing to hover overhead. Not today. Apparently a woman died after her car crashed into a tree on Weathersfield Way, between Plum Grove Road and Summit Drive. This attracted the attention of the local news choppers, bringing no less than three of them over the center of Schaumburg. As of 11 this morning, the identity of the driver had not yet been released.
