Pure Nonsense

“I think the First Amendment has served us well for over 200 years. I don’t think it needs to be altered.” Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), on the proposed Amendment to the US Constitution banning the burning of the US Flag. Congress shall make no law, b*tch#s. Why ya gotta be creating loopholes just to win votes for this November?

Also…”I don’t want to amend the Constitution to solve a non-problem. People are not burning the flag.” Senator Robert Bennett (R-UT). Kind of makes one wonder about Congress’ priorities, not to mention their motivations???

I agree. This stupid concept just won’t go away. Quien es mas patriotic? Apparantly it’s the guy who wants to limit a core freedom so that no one will be shocked by the destruction of a representation of a symbol.

By the way, I like that you quoted two Republicans.

[…] Brad has a post about the proposed Flag Desecration Amendment, and the response from two Republicans. I whole-heartedly agree with Senator Robert Bennett (R-UT), who calls it a "non-problem." Who is burning the flag these days? And why should I be offended that they are? […]

It’s like when there were hearings about steroid use in baseball. It would be nice if they could at least pretend to be doing relevant work…

LOL and I agree to every comment.

    That’s all I got.
