Jason just tweeted about this, and I just…
I don’t know. See for yourself:
go ahead, ask me anything!
As some of you may know, when I went on vacation in Seattle, I played a lot of Rock Band on Hersch’s XBox 360. Just yesterday it was officially announced that Rock Band will be coming to the Wii on June 22. Unfortunately, it will lack a lot of the cool features of the next-gen versions, such as online play, downloadable content and customizable characters. The only plus is that there are five tracks exclusive to the Wii. Personally, I would rather have any one of the other missing features than exclusive songs.
It looks like Electronic Arts is blaming the missing features on Nintendo. A Rock Band spokesperson was quoted as saying, "When developing ‘Rock Band’ for the Wii platform, we focused on making the core gameplay experience as solid and enjoyable as possible…Wii’s online capabilities and potential have yet to be fully realized." You know, it’s great that the core gameplay experience will be solid, but I’d like to be able to play online and download new songs. You would think that MTV and Harmonix would like to stick it to Activision and Red Octane by making Rock Band for Wii an out-of-the-box kick-ass experience. Instead, they make it a Guitar-Hero-III-with-drums-and-mic-ho-hum experience. Boo.
I came across this funny music video when watching Webnation, yet another a video podcast covering tech. Check it out. That’s pretty much how I imagine it is like trying to chat up a girl online these days.
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to realize what was going on inside my computer. For quite some time, I have been annoyed by the tendency for my music’s ID3 tags to get corrupted. For example, I would find long strings of DWORDs in the Comments field, or my ratings would get screwed up. This would wreak havok on my iTunes library because the music files would contain information different from the iTunes library XML file. As I would browse through my library listings, I would find the meta data changing before my eyes! I think I have found a reason for this, and the post’s punny title is a clue.
Continue reading ‘Title Bout: iTunes vs. Windows Media Player’After dinner at Greek Village Taverna last night, Chris and I went to see Across the Universe with Tim and Sam. We had been anticipating the movie’s release since we saw the first teaser trailers; the in-laws are big fans for The Beatles. For those of you who don’t know, AtU is a new movie musical featuring The Beatles’ music. Despite what seems like a great premise, I did not come out of the theater with entirely positive thoughts about the movie.
Continue reading ‘Bono is the walrus’A lot has happened since my last post. Among them are:
I’m sure there’s more, but I guess I’d better head off to bed. We’re hitting up Richard Walker’s at 9 in the morning. So much for me sleeping in on my day off.
I haven’t been writing a lot of what I might consider substantive posts in recent weeks. I guess I’ve just been tired from staying up too late and then getting up early for work. Also, I haven’t been turning the laptop on at home very much lately. At any rate, here is yet another meaningless, but fun, post. There was a video on BoreMe titled "Groovy dancing girl" that showed up on del.icio.us. The video is a well edited footage of a girl dancing to Daft Punk’s Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.
I didn’t like the presentation at BoreMe, so I found the video on YouTube. Here it is for you enjoyment:
After having watched this video and the video that Scott posted, I think I’m going to have to get this catchy song. I don’t care if it’s super repetitive, I like Daft Punk.
