Indian cuisine

For a while now Grant, Brad and I have been talking about going to India House in Schaumburg. I think we should go soon. According to this article from IndiaPost.com, India House is under new management and has been redone recently. I’d like to try the lunch buffet so that I can get at least a little taste of everything. That will hopefully make it easier to decide on an entree when visiting for dinner. If anyone is interested in going to the lunch buffet, name a day in the comments of give me a call.

I can cook better

Despite a near-failed attempt at making stuffed shells Monday night, I think I can make food better than the employee who was fired from Great China Buffet in New York. A customer of the restaurant snapped a photo of a restaurant employee crushing garlic…

in the alley…

with his boots!

Sushi Station website updated

Sushi Station updated their website recently, including an updated photo menu, multimedia clips of their new commercials and a clip of the Hungry Hound’s feature on the restaurant. I’m glad that Sushi Station has had so much good publicity lately, because that means they will be around for a while to satisfy my hunger for sushi. Of course, all this publicity means a busier restaurant, too.

Is that what I bought?

Here is a photo comparison of items from various fast food restaurants. The ad picture is shown side-by-side with a photo taken of the actual item as purchased from the restaurant. It’s not anything surprising, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

Italian herb crusted pork tenderloin

pork_03This one is for Hersch. I’m on day three of making dinner this week. Tonight I made the Italian herb crusted pork tenderloin from Simply Homemade. Chris and I put this together when we went to the Crystal Lake store at the end of March.

The pork tenderloin is pretty easy to make. I don’t exactly remember what we put into the breadcrumbs, but it looks like rosemary, oregano and Parmesan cheese, but don’t quote me on that. I rolled the tenderloins in the breadcrumbs and seasonings, then placed them in a foil-lined pan before baking in a 400° oven for about 35 minutes. To accompany the pork, I made some seasoned potato wedges. I wasn’t too crazy about the potatoes, and neither was Chris. The pork was pretty good, though.
