Here is a pretty link to SHINBASHI!! For those of you who don’t remember the wonder that was Kikkoman, Shinbashi is a lot like that.
The premise is this, the cat-dude at the front of the “class” is teaching gaijin helpful Japanese phrases. It then degenerates into repeating random Japanese words like “Takashimiya” which is a lot like a Nordstrom. They even go so far as to use “bacon double cheeseburger”, or something of that respect.
My friends and I found it humorous. Maybe not as great as LeRoy Jenkins, but it’s definitely becoming a bookmark.
Point of interest: Shinbashi is an area in Tokyo.
I actually like trendy clothes.
I went shopping today because I needed to buy more summer-y shirts for work. Naturally, I ended up at UniQlo, but on the way there, I wandered down Shinsaibashi-suji — and even into…The Gap.
The truth of the matter is I really think the clothes are keen. I just look ridiculous in them, me thinks. I wish I could wear some of ‘em, honestly. Then there’s also the little matter of the fact that I can’t justify paying a bajillion dollars on one article of clothing.
Incidentally, the link for UniQlo is for the on in the US. Apparently, they’re in Jersey. Pretty funny, all things considered.
