West End Wicked

Mike, Anna, Nate (Mike’s roommate), and I went to Costco yesterday. As we were sitting on the train, I noticed an ad for a new Universal Studios Japan attraction featuring Oz. In the corner of the ad was another more familiar green, black, and white ad for Wicked .

“Mike!” I cried excitedly, “You have to come read this for me!”

Apparently, there’s a special production of Wicked playing at USJ. Needless to say, I’m totally going to see it.

In my desire to find out more about the production, I did a search for it on Google, which is how I came across even greater news…

Idina Menzel will reprise her role as Elphaba in the West End Production of Wicked

NOW I really want to go to London!

You have GOT to be kidding me!!!

My parents e-mailed me YESTERDAY to tell me that they were coming on MONDAY. Count the days, people, that’s like two freaking days notice!

Needless to say, my stress level skyrocketed. In order to do a schedule change, you need about five days notice, three in emergencies. I consider this situation the latter.

So even though it was my day off yesterday, I went into Nova to try and get this Shift Swap approved. I talked to my TI Alex, and he suggested I go straight to the guy who takes care of these things.

Gareth said it should be no problem. “Relax,” he admonished.

The funny thing about this situation is that until the piece of paper is in my hand saying that it’s all approved, I won’t stop worrying about it.

Nova is a corporation, not a school. They won’t care.

So anyway, got lots of stress presently.

Auspicious Day

I had hoped to post this yesterday, but the blogs were down. No matter, it’s more Romantic this way…

It is officially one year and one day since I fell in love with a Firefly Class transport ship named Serentiy.

One year and one day ago, three good friends gathered in my basement and had me watch “Jaynestown”. It started out kinda odd, since they were also trying to give me backstory, all within the first two minutes of the teaser. This was leading towards a very Munchkin reaction (a game, I initially was not very fond of).

“Have good sex!”

When Kaylee uttered those words so cheerfully, I was sold.

One year ago today, I bought my very own shiny copy of Firefly.
