This morning was something interesting. It’s no secret that I’ve had stuff on my mind and apparently, people can tell when things just ain’t right with me, like there be something wrong. I’ve been told this before, but I’m not completely sure I understand it, or perhaps it’s more that I ignore it or some such.
Anyway, Darya and I talked for a long time trying to suss out some circumstances.
Thereafter, it was decided that pizza must be had! It had been almost two months or so since we last ate Slices, the only pizzeria in Osaka that has North American style pizza. Somehow, this also involved the purchasing of MORE cheesecake — pretty much, for the last week since the party, we’ve had plenty of cheesecake in the house, as well as ice cream.
As we were going back to the subway, we noticed Natashia walking towards the Midosuji Line. We couldn’t very well not stop by and say hello. I was quick to guess that she was probably heading to Umeda to check her e-mail since she doesn’t have a computer and the YahooBB store offers free service.
“Do you want to come over? We have pizza, and you can use the internet.”
I was quite pleased that she accepted our invitation.
When I walked in the door, I announced: “Tadaima! We have pizza, cheesecake, ice cream, and an Aussie!”
“What?”
I grinned and told Jacob that we kidnapped Natashia.
We all four sat companionably, eating pizza, drinking Coca-Cola (I still maintain that Pepsi here tastes different…that and it’s not as easily accessible as it is back home), and watching Jacob kill a chainsaw weilding non-zombie but totally psychotic clown.
Natashia and I spent the afternoon doing what friends do, talking, watching a movie, and then Jacob came home from his language exchange and we all three had an academic debate about “accent” versus “dialect”. It was envigorating. I had missed speaking of such things.
Natashia and I decided to go for a stroll abouts Fuse, that and we took it upon ourselves to gather provisions for dinner. At the grocery store, we were most amused and amusing. We didn’t really know what we should buy, so we purchased random vegetables (broccoli, red pepper, bok choy, and asparagus), meat that looked edible, and some red wine called “Jacob’s Creek” — it seemed mildly appropiate.
Jacob managed to create an amazing meal with all these ingredients. Seriously. Awesome. I even went back for seconds and I rarely do that. He made himself and Natashia some mulled wine as well, which, according to Natashia, was quite potent.
It was a grand evening of camaraderie. It certainly made up for some missage.
