Since I’ve become so adept at kidnapping Natashia, it was only fitting that we do so again this morning. Although, for the record, she and I had planned to go to the Art Museum last week.
I had text her yesterday inviting her to join us for breakfast, to which, she happily accepted.
I protested wakfulness as I had come in this morning at three and couldn’t sleep for a spell thereafter. But I had some groceries to buy for our breakfast, and there were a few things I wanted to get done before Natashia arrived…like shower.
I bought eggs, and since I deemed the yogurt unworthy of my two roommates and our kidnapped one, I opted for ice cream in its stead — it made sense at the time! I also stopped by Pandero, the bakery that is on the corner of our street, and bought some pretty breads.
It was a delicious brunch, since we ended up eating closer to 11:00AM than anything. Heh. I just realized as I was typing this that it’s Thursday. (Have you lot been to Richard Walker’s recently? Someone order my crepes for me!)
Since we were so content with our meal and once again, good company, we were reluctant to move. (The same thing happened on Monday when we kidnapped Natashia for burgers.) Eventually, the plan (not affiliated with “Now that you’ve seen…The Plan…I’m gonna go…and, show…The Plan…to someone else.”) got the better of us and we thought it best to take our leave.
Natashia and I kinda walked to the station in a haze, our stomachs quite full. It was all very Etruscan, as the Kidnapped One has been wont to say as of late.
We made it to the museum in one piece, much to my delight as I am notorious for getting lost and the like.
The exhibit itself was very somber, at least, the Spanish painters gallery was. Very dark. There was one piece that I stared at for quite a while, “Vision of St. Francis of Assisi” by de Ribera. There something about the absense of color that stood out to me.
There was some really swank pieces. Natashia particularly enjoyed the still life. I am always more interested in the detail of textiles and body.
As we were leaving the museum, we noticed advertisements for two more art exhibits in the Kansai area, one in Kyoto and the other in Kobe. We hope to visit those as well.
I can’t wait to go home if anything so I can go back to the Art Institute of Chicago.

Any crepes ordered for you would probably be pretty gross by the time they got to you… Can you make crepes there? Does this require a… crepe pan or something?
No one could go to RW without thinking of Jessi’s crepe.
Dude, that movie was on TV the other day, and they completely edited out the scene with ‘The Plan.” !!!!! I was sad.
I miss you.
I am…officially…lame…
I saw Prado and wondered what you’d be doing at an exhibit for fake Pradas……………lame to the extreme
