This week’s Firefly Sunday was most definitely an auspicious occasion as our dear Scottish friend Steve celebrated another glorious year. Naturally, we celebrated at the Outback Steakhouse. We were amused that we were essentially seated in the same booth where we celebrated for my birthday; we wondered vaguely if perhaps this was like the special gaijin birthday booth or something.
Steve seemed to enjoy himself immensely, and he proclaimed that this year was definitely better than last. I asked him why, and he told us that this year people actually celebrated with him as opposed to last where his friends forgot. Since he did not get his birthday ice cream despite the fact that we told our waitress of such, I told him I would treat him to one of those amazing strawberry parfaits we’re both so fond of from the Royal Host.
