Firefly Sunday: Canada Day and Mukanna’s New Pad

It was Canada Day this past Sunday, which admittedly for me (gestures to blog title) didn’t really mean much, but our friend Anna is Canadian so it was a day to be noted by our little gang. To celebrate, we went to Slices for the Canada Day All-You-Can-Eat Special (the owners also hail from Canada). I was wicked disappointed with myself ‘cuz I wasn’t all that hungry and I only had one and a half slices, but it was still worth it.

Mike and Anna finally moved into together in a place in Bentencho so we had an impromptu gathering there. It was a bit of a hike from the station and not in the same building as the other units in the area but holy smokes it’s so worth it! Their place is a 2 LDK (2 bedrooms, living, kitchen, and dining for those of you who don’t speak Japanese “mansion” styles), but they’re using the tatami room as the bedroom, took down the doors to the second bedroom thus opening up the whole place. The ceilings are also a bit higher than typical Japanese roofs, so it really seemed cool. If I could afford it, I would totally move into a place like that for myself. So cool. They’ll have their official housewarming after they come back from Canada, and Anna said they were planning on hosting some other parties.

Wicked cool pad.
