Roast addiction

I think my love for roasts started because of Chris Ordonez. I can’t remember exactly when we had it the first time, but I definitely remember I damn well love roast. So it was only natural to ask for it when I come home. I did so in December 2006, and I did so now. (Heh. I make it sound like I don’t live here anymore or something, when it looks like I’m stuck for the time being.)

This time around, the dinner guests were more confined; it was only Grant, Al, Rich, and of course Chris and Mark. (The other time had extended into another table.) It was a grand ol’ time. I’ve always liked having sit-down meals and playing at being grown up. For the most of the dinner conversation, Al regaled us with tales of her workplace (she works at the zoo).

After dinner involved games. Folk had talked up this game Shadows Over Camelot previously, so naturally that was one of the games we were gonna play. We started with a game called Flux though which at first was a bit confusin’, but once I got the hang of it it wasn’t too bad. The Camelot game was complicated but fun. I wasn’t entirely sure if I did well, but we played it in such a way that all of us were working toward a common goal, and I was able to fend off the Saxons on my lonesome the first time around while everyone else tried to get the grail, and then Excalibur. We also collectively battled siege engines. I was able to take out two of ‘em on my own. ‘Twas pretty fun.

I’ve missed this kind of thing. This ain’t to say we haven’t done so in a while, but it can be kind of difficult when there are billions of folk to accommodate, some of whom ain’t keen on playing some games.

But yeah. The roast bit was the most important part of the night. You know, ‘cuz it’s awesome. I can’t really compare between Anna’s and Chris’s, but that’s only ‘cuz they’re two different types of roast. However, I can blame Chris for addicting me to roasts.

I kinda feel left out cause you’ve never tried my roast. Okay, my roast isn’t fantastic, but at least you can always count on it feeding an army.
