So I’m just about finished with 2.0 and I think I know what it is about BSG that sits with me funny: I don’t like any of the characters.
That is so cool.
I mean, usually, there’s a character I like, at least one. Sometimes the person is an incredibly secondary character but he or she is usually enough for me to like the show.
Not so much at this particular moment.
I can’t really say I like anyone. All the characters I’ve met so far are all unbelievably frustrating. They’re stupid and stubborn and self-righteous and smart…
It’s all very intriguing for me.
And it makes me want to watch more.
This is quite the drama.
I still maintain that I’m nothing like Boomer.

Randomly — is Lucy Lawless’s character meant to be “British”? Is there something wrong with the Kiwi accent? I never really watched a whole lot of Xena but I don’t recall hearing her natural accent so much. I think they should have totally let her keep her Kiwi accent! It woulda been cool ‘cuz other than Flight of the Conchords I dunno of too many New Zealanders about.
I don’t think she’s supposed to be British, she speaks in her natural accent as Three, no?
Yay for wanting more Battlestar! One of my favorite things about it is that the characters do things you don’t like very frequently, but it’s usually consistent with who they are. I’ve come to like some of them, but not in the warm and fuzzy way, more so in the they are consistently interesting way…
@ angela: First, wow…I didn’t think anyone other than my friends ever commented on my blog. Second, yeah, fair enough. Maybe I’m just not used to her accent, or maybe the Kiwi accents I’d heard before are just much stronger.
