My girl is lost in space

When I first heard that Shadowcat was “lost”, I was more or less pissed off. What the hell, man? I was annoyed that once again, Joss Whedon uses his signature move and separates a happy couple. The part that got me was the fact that first he “resurrected” Colossus to do this. I still remember reading those panels before Theatre Ed. 385 and the many feelings that coursed through me.

And then what does he do? He goes and “loses” Kitty in space. Technically, she had to do it so she could help save Earth…but the last time this type of thing happened (I refer you to that stupid “Revolution” story arc from 2000) she just decided to go to college at University of Chicago. That was okay ‘cuz she was still around. And she got her own mini-series out of it.

This time, though? I just don’t know.

Yes, I realize that I just posted about comic book death and the like a few days ago so really, I shouldn’t be that busted up. But part of me is still wicked bummed about it.

Damn you, Joss Whedon! It’s a good thing you’re doing Dollhouse or else I’d be pretty darn pissed.

Now I’m just sad. Shadowcat is the reason I read comic books in the first place.

Maybe she’ll be back next month…
