Three times in one week, that’s something, right?

So I didn’t write anything about the first call this week, mostly ‘cuz it was a bust even before it started. I find it mildly amusing that just about every time a new resource manager person calls me they always ask me the same question: Where are you looking to teach?

Anyway, the first call was this past Monday and it was apparently going to be a school in a “rougher” area. When I explained to the resource manager that U-High was something of a laboratory school that the students had to apply to get into, she said that the school she had in mind for me probably wouldn’t fit. It was a school in a “rougher” part of London or so, and she went on to say that this is nothing against me, she just thought there would be something that would be a better match for me.

Even though I knew she was right about finding the right match, I freely admit that I was starting to feel a little disheartened about England.

Then there was the phone call yesterday at 2 AM; that was sounding a little better than a flat out “this won’t work for you”.

And then later in the afternoon, I got another call from Natalie. She said she might have found something suitable for me in Andover, Hampshire. She said she would send me more information about the school in an e-mail and she would arrange to have one of her colleagues in the UK phone me to set up an interview.

I talked to said colleague this morning and I guess there will be an interview on Monday at about 12 PM CST.

So…maybe things are starting to look up? I guess I’ll find out Monday.
