So I was supposed to have this interview at noon today. I woke up at a reasonable time, showered, and layed out all the interview stuff the way I had with the last phone interview. For whatever reason, I didn’t feel as nervous about this interview as the last one.
The hour was fast approaching noon, and admittedly, I was starting to feel a bit more nervous, but not pacing-nervous.
Three minutes passed the hour, and I was starting to get nervous for a different reason. It should have been a sign.
Half past the hour, I was flat out confused. I gave it another fifteen minutes before I called Natalie in Toronto. She wasn’t in her office, so I had to leave a message.
A full hour later I find out that the school I was going to interview for had found a local candidate and they were going to interview this other person first. Natalie said she had talked to Roger (the guy who was setting things up in the UK) and he had told her that he would contact me.
That was a big fat not so much ‘cuz I didn’t get the message. I wonder vaguely if that’s the fine service of T-Mobile, or if Roger meant to call me and got distracted by something shiny.
In any case, this just makes me laugh. This school just plain didn’t want me! At least the last place gave me the courtesy of an interview.
Hah! 
For the record, there is no hint of bitterness meant to be conveyed in this post. It really did make me laugh and I really do just think it’s funny.
