On Saturday, we were planning on hitting up a few of the local car dealers to get some information about some of the cars I have been looking at over the past couple of weeks. I had planned on visiting Toyota, Honda and Subaru, then finishing the day at CarMax. Since we planned on visiting CarMax, Chris’s dad suggested that we stop there first. It ended up being the only dealer we needed to visit that day.

I’m not going to pussyfoot here: intelligent design is anything but intelligent. I have a clear bias on this one. Here are some videos that show what’s wrong with those that believe in intelligent design (not all creationists believe in intelligent design):
There are 19 videos in all. The series was created by YouTube user Thunderf00t. I’m in the middle of the third video right now, and so far I find the videos quite entertaining. I know most of the science in the videos, so there isn’t much educating happening for me.
Tell me what you think of the videos in the comments.
I was about to push my chair back from the desk when I opened my blog stats in the WordPress admin dashboard. Apparently, my post about putting photos on an iPod is still very popular (relatively speaking, of course). One of the neat things that the blog stats shows me is the links that users click on to leave my blog. I found out that a link I posted in the aforementioned post was incorrect; Apple changed the URL. I have now updated the link, and all should be well in the universe once again.
So, the blog stats are useful, especially in helping to solve problems that my readers may have with bad links.
Yesterday I attended the Network World ITRoadmap Conference & Expo in Rosemont. At the expo, I sat in on the Web 2.0 in the Enterprise session, where Irwin Lazar of Nemertes Research and Alex Petrov of Whirlpool Canada talked about Web 2.0. I’m going to be blunt here: Lazar’s presentation was almost worthless if you had already been following Web 2.0 in any way over the past year. All he talked about for 90 minutes was Web 2.0 itself, only dipping his toe into Web 2.0’s actual use in the enterprise. There is more content in the first sentence of each section of the Wikipedia entry for Web 2.0 than in Lazar’s entire presentation! No joke.
Continue reading ‘Things I learned at the ITRoadmap Conference’In Chris’s absence tonight, I was planning on catching up on some more network television. That didn’t happen, because I discovered Gene Simmons Family Jewels on A&E (no joke). I know the show has been on for a while (this is the third season, in fact), but this is the first time I bothered to watch it. I was able to catch the three latest episodes, and I really enjoyed them.
Continue reading ‘The family jewels’I know I’m late to the game yet again, but Hersch told me about a Twitter client called Spaz that is available for OS X, Windows and Linux. It uses the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR), and it is pretty slick. I’m going try it out for a few days. If it works as well as Hersch says it does, I’m going to say bye to Twitbin.
